Refunds and cancellation.

Cancel any time and keep what you have paid for until it runs out. Money coming back is the rarer case, so here is exactly when it does.

Cancelling

Cancel any time from your billing screen. No notice period, no phone call, no retention offer.

Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not end your subscription there and then: you keep working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the date is shown on screen and in the banner from the moment you cancel. Change your mind before that date and one click puts it back.

Changing your mind is not a refund

What you have paid for is yours to use until it runs out, and it is not refunded because you decided partway through that you would rather not. That is the whole of it, and it applies from the first day rather than after a trial window.

  • Paying monthly. Cancel and you are not charged again. We do not refund part of a month.
  • Paying yearly. Cancel and you keep access for the rest of the year you paid for. We do not refund the remainder, because the yearly price is ten months rather than twelve on the basis that it is a year.

Pascal is sold to businesses, so the statutory cancellation rights that come with buying something as a consumer do not apply here. The terms explain why that distinction exists. Everything the product does is set out on the features and pricing pages before you pay, nothing is held back until after checkout, and you can cancel the renewal the same afternoon if it is not for you.

When money does come back

In each of these it is a change we made that you did not ask for, so the refund is what makes the change fair rather than a gesture.

  • If we close your account for our own reasons rather than for misuse, we refund the unused part of what you have paid.
  • If we change the terms or the price in a way you will not accept, cancel before it takes effect and we refund the unused part of your period.
  • If we withdraw something you were relying on, the same applies.

Each of those is set out in the terms. Outside them we do not refund, which does not touch whatever the law gives you if we have genuinely broken the agreement.

If something has gone wrong, tell us anyway. We would far rather hear it and fix it than have you sit on it, and a problem raised early is usually a problem we can still do something about.

Changing plan

Move up a tier and you get it immediately. We show you exactly what will be taken before you confirm, which is the new price less credit for the part of your current plan you have not used, and take it there and then.

Move down and nothing happens today. You keep the plan you have paid for until that period runs out, with every feature it includes, and the next invoice is for the cheaper plan. We do not refund the difference, and we do not take anything away early. You can change your mind and stay on your current plan right up until the date.

Failed payments

If a renewal fails we email you straight away and your account keeps working for one more day. At the end of that day we check with our payment provider one last time, and if the payment still has not gone through, everybody in your company is signed out until it does.

Nothing is deleted. Everything is exactly as you left it and comes straight back the moment the payment clears.

Your records, whatever happens

Cancelling does not delete anything. Your certificates, jobs and clients stay exactly as you left them, and they come straight back if you subscribe again.

We keep them for twelve months after a subscription ends, then delete them, and we email the admins on the account at least 30 days before we do. Once you have left you can tell us to hand the lot over or to delete it early, and either is free. The data processing agreement is where that is written down properly.
